The Aranui 5 ( welcomes internationally acclaimed Chef Jean Soulard on voyage 3, sailing Feb. 16, 2017. While on board, Soulard will provide cooking demonstrations of his cookbook recipes as well as speak about the Quebecois gastronomy.

A native of La Vendée, France, Soulard grew up with culinary inspiration all around him as his grandparents and parents worked in the food industry as well as owned a local hotel and bakery. Upon completing his basic culinary studies at the Hôtelière de Saumur, Soulard began his career at the prestigious Auberge du Père Bise in Talloires, France.

Influenced by his childhood experiences, Soulard has also worked in the hotel industry at the Queen Elisabeth Hotel in Montreal, Executive Chef of multiple Hilton International properties and Executive Chef of the famed Château Frontenac. His career has brought him all over the world including London, Switzerland, Canada, Tokyo, Hong Kong and the South Pacific. While in each country, Soulard expanded his expertise, learning the local cuisine and ingredients.

Throughout his career, Soulard has authored nine books, guest starred in cooking TV series, produced his own TV series and guest hosted on several radio stations. Among his numerous titles and accomplishments is the recognition of French Master Chef.  As a French-Canadian cooking ambassador, Jean Soulard travels the world to participate in diverse cooking and cultural promotions, following his passion and personal mantra, 'discovering humanity through cooking.’
